Errol's Interests

I have a wide range of interests but I currently focus on photography, cycling, learning, and software development. In the menu, you will find links to a cycling page and a photography page. These provide further information on my activities in these areas. The learning and software development interest can be seen through the teaching and research pages.

I also have an interest in family history but this only progresses when time allows.

My detailed CV is accessible through this link.

My Background and Philosophy

I encourage learning, research, and consult in software development topics.

Mission and Principles

My goal is:

To learn

Through study and research, I aim to increase my knowledge in my subject area (system development practitioner), my ability to facilitate the learning of others (educator), and my ability to complete research projects (researcher).

to do, and

Through the application of what I am learning, I aim to enhance my understanding of the application of all that I am learning so that I can better teach others how to apply what I teach.

to teach

Through teaching, I aim to communicate and pass on all that I have learnt and continue to learn.

I believe that this is based on sound principles for any who would aspire to help others in any walk of life.

" For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord, and to do it, and to teach his statutes and ordinances in Israel. " Ezra 7:10

My teaching is focused on the development of Software Systems.

This emphasis flows into my research work where my major projects or research agendas are:

Ministry of Enabling

" And his gifts were that some should be evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the equipment of the saints, for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ " (Ephesians 4:11-12).

I believe that all people have been given an ability that they can use in the service of others. These abilities can remain unused unless each of us is enabled to use our giftings.

I believe that it is important to recognise the gifts of individuals, to train them, and to free them to service. I see the freeing of people to service as providing the necessary resources and removing unnecessary burdens. Effective business operations provide the right tools for the job and ensure that the individual is not distracted from the task.

I see the need to work in unison with each using their recognised gifts for the benefit or service of all.
